What are the responsibilities and job description for the ADOC Departmental Personnel Manager IV position at Alabama Department of Corrections?
The Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC), Personnel Division, is actively recruiting experienced and dedicated professionals to serve as a Departmental Personnel Manager IV. This position is located on-site in Montgomery, Alabama. This is highly responsible and professional administrative work of extensive scope and complexity within the ADOC. This position is responsible for directing and coordinating the most complex and comprehensive departmental personnel management programs.
Salary: $93,096.00 - $156,499.20
Note: The starting salary is determined based on education, experience, or a combination of both.
This is a full-time professional position that includes but not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Oversee the recruitment, management, and development of an organization's workforce.
- Ensure HR policies are implemented professionally, effectively and in accordance with the law.
- Handle employee relations and support organizational goals through workforce planning.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in accordance with the law.
- Coordinate employee training and development programs.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
- Maintain employee records and manage HR documentation.
- Mediate disputes and facilitate corrective action resolution.
Applicants must meet the requirements below:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited* four-year college or university in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Seven (7) years of professional work experience in personnel administration to include two (2) years of supervisory experience. Personnel work includes responsibility for at least one of the following functions: performance appraisal, compensation/payroll, employee benefits, classification, selection/hiring, training, and employment termination. Examples of acceptable supervisory experience include responsibility for conducting performance evaluations, hiring, termination, and disciplinary action.
