Consumer Operations Representative

To assist members with their loan applications, including processing and making loan disbursements; to assist members with their financial transactions, involving taking payment using negotiable instruments. To assist the Loan Department with filing issues including documentation, scanning, and purging of loan files.

Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience. Experience in a loan department in a Credit Union is strongly preferred.

Education: A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills: Works involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.

Other Skills

General: Good oral and written communication skills, professional presentation, and good organizational skills.

Leadership: Required skills include the ability to describe and sell appropriate products and services to members; self motivation to complete job tasks to the best of personal ability.

Technological: Proficiency in the use of a personal computer to include MS Word, Excel, and ability to use web and web-based applications; proficiency in the use of a 10-key calculator; ability to count cash; Basic keyboarding.

Industry Specific: Eagerness to learn new information in a fast-paced environment, and adaptability to apply new information as appropriate. Basic understanding of governmental regulations for financial institutions preferred.

Physical Requirements: During the course of a normal workday, incumbents will sit, stand, walk, see, hear, reach, use gross and fine motor coordination for activities such as using standard office machines, using paper (to include counting cash, sorting and filling paper items, etc.) and occasionally lift and carry incidental items such as supplies.
