Alabama Clinical Schools is a Residential Treatment Facility that provides treatment for adolescent males, ages 9-18. Alabama Clinical Schools has been a Residential Behavioral Healthcare provider in the Birmingham area for over 20 years. Our treatment services range from intensive residential treatment for males ages 9-18 to therapeutic foster care for males and females of all ages. Our mission is simple: to enrich lives of at-risk youth and their families by delivering quality behavioral and educational services while fostering a safe transition to the community.

Responsibilities

He/she provides direct care to residents with psychiatric disorders, to ensure their safety and well-being. MHA’s have the primary responsibility for ensuring the resident’s safety on the unit utilizing a therapeutic approach to all tasks including assistance with daily activities, facilitation of groups and other duties as assigned by Group Leader, Assistant Group Leader, or Shift Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Associates degree in psychology, social work, education, criminal justice, or other related mental health field preferred.
  • Detailed and organized with strong documentation skills
  • Able to safely monitor residents and perform physical management techniques and crisis intervention.
  • Experience in a residential mental/behavioral health setting strongly preferred.
  • Successfully pass background screen (includes criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and ABI/FBI fingerprint check) and drug testing

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.50 per hour
