Worship Pastor

Position: Worship Pastor

Purpose: The Worship Pastor is responsible for the development and oversight of the worship ministry, which also includes technology and media. We at Skyland Baptist Church are committed to family worship and desire to maintain an intergenerational style and on-stage presence. The primary task will be to equip every member to use their musical gifts to edify the body and glorify the Lord.

Worship Responsibilities

• Develop a plan with assistance from the Senior Pastor for the worship ministry of Skyland Baptist Church to help fulfill its mission.
• He will be responsible for the planning, organizing, & implementation of the worship ministry including all the musical, artistic, and technical elements of worship services.
• Work with musicians, choirs, and others in developing creative worship services.
• Lead the congregation in corporate worship and singing during the Sunday church services as well as special services (revivals, concerts, seasonal programs).
• Direct the choir or praise team during the Sunday services, working with volunteer musicians (instrumentalists and vocalists).
• Encourage the development of spiritual, musical, artistic, & technical gifts of others.
• Develop an annual worship ministry budget proposal, and administer that budget as approved by the Stewardship Team.
• Establish a rehearsal schedule for choirs, instrumentalists, youth band, and praise team members.
• Train sound team members on how to use new software and sound equipment in weekly worship services.
