West Jefferson Baptist Church (WJBC) in Quinton, Alabama, is seeking a bi-vocational Senior Pastor to serve as the spiritual leader of the congregation. An Ideal Candidate Will
- Demonstrate a genuine love for God and for people, evidenced in both character and conduct
- Meet the biblical qualifications for a pastor/elder as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9
- Be a born-again, baptized believer with a clear testimony of salvation
- Be a gifted communicator of Scripture, committed to sound doctrine, with a balanced approach to preaching that includes both expository and topical messages, and a growing emphasis on expository teaching
- Provide biblical counseling and spiritual guidance grounded in Scripture
- Exhibit humility, integrity, and servant leadership in shepherding the congregation
- Be committed to prayer, personal holiness, and spiritual discipline
- Be motivated to engage in kingdom work within the church, the local community, and beyond
- Work effectively with existing church leadership, ministries, and volunteers
- Be willing to disciple and equip others for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:11–12)
- Be involved in and supportive of Children’s, Youth, and Adult ministries
- Be willing to visit and care for the sick, elderly, and homebound
- Participate in planning and leading church fellowship and outreach events
- Demonstrate organizational ability and dependability in managing responsibilities
- Have a heart to shepherd the flock, promote unity, and reach the lost
