Position Summary
Ino Baptist Church is seeking a passionate, Christ-centered Associate Pastor of Worship to lead and shepherd our worship ministry. This individual will oversee a thriving music program that includes a large adult choir (approx. 100 members) and a small orchestra (10–15 instrumentalists) with potential for continued growth.
For candidates qualified for full-time ministry, this role may expand to include additional pastoral and operational responsibilities in Discipleship, Administration, Education, and/or Information Technology (IT) based on gifting, experience, and church needs.
This is a pastoral role—requiring both musical excellence and a shepherd’s heart.
Primary Responsibilities
Worship Leadership
Plan and lead weekly worship services in collaboration with the Senior Pastor
Lead congregational worship blending contemporary music and traditional hymns
Ensure all worship elements align with sound biblical theology and church vision
Lead Sunday services and special events (revivals, holidays, etc.)
Choir Ministry
Direct and shepherd a large adult choir (approx. 100 voices)
Plan and lead weekly rehearsals
Select music that supports sermon themes and seasonal emphases
Invest in the spiritual growth of choir members
Orchestra & Instrumental Ministry
Lead and coordinate a small orchestra (10–15 members)
Arrange/select music for choir and instrumental accompaniment
Recruit, develop, and disciple instrumentalists
Team Development & Administration
Recruit, train, and disciple worship ministry volunteers
Coordinate scheduling for musicians, vocalists, and tech teams
Oversee worship ministry systems, resources, and budget
Work alongside media/tech teams to ensure distraction-free services
Supervise ministry assistant (if applicable)
Spiritual & Pastoral Leadership
Model a growing, personal relationship with Christ
Provide pastoral care and discipleship to ministry members
Foster unity, humility, and Christ-centered service
Additional Responsibilities (Full-Time Candidates)
Discipleship & Education (if applicable)
Help develop and implement a comprehensive, age-graded discipleship strategy
Oversee Life Groups/Sunday School and discipleship programs
Train and equip leaders, teachers, and volunteers
Lead new member assimilation and membership classes
Coordinate church-wide equipping events (marriage, parenting, men’s/women’s ministry)
Information Technology & Media (if applicable)
Provide oversight and vision for church technology systems (audio, video, lighting, livestream, and IT infrastructure)
Coordinate and support media/tech volunteers and team leaders
Ensure reliable operation of worship technology, livestream platforms, and presentation software
Assist in evaluating, implementing, and maintaining church management software, databases, and digital communication tools
Help strengthen the church’s digital presence (website, streaming, online engagement) in alignment with ministry goals
Troubleshoot basic technical issues and coordinate with outside vendors when needed
Promote excellence and consistency in all technical aspects of worship and communication
Pastoral Ministry
Assist with hospital and home visitation
Support preaching and teaching responsibilities
Participate in baptisms, weddings, funerals, and counseling
Support overall ministry needs as directed by the Senior Pastor
Administration (if applicable)
Assist with church communication, scheduling, and ministry coordination
Help develop simple, sustainable ministry systems
Support staff and volunteer leadership structures
Qualifications
Spiritual
Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a call to ministry
Meets biblical qualifications (1 Timothy 3:1–7; Titus 1:5–9)
Affirms the Baptist Faith & Message 2000
Demonstrates a life of integrity, humility, and spiritual discipline
Musical
Strong vocal ability and platform leadership
Proficiency in piano or guitar preferred
Experience directing choirs and instrumental ensembles
Ability to read music and/or lead from charts
Leadership & Technical Aptitude
Proven ability to lead and grow a worship ministry
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work in unity with staff and church leadership
Familiarity with worship technology, media systems, or IT infrastructure is a plus (for expanded roles)
Heart for both excellence and congregational participation
Preferred Experience
Experience in a church of similar size or larger
Formal education a plus, but not required
Background in blended worship (modern hymns)
Familiarity with choir/orchestral arrangements
Experience in a Southern Baptist or like-minded context
Experience with church technology, livestreaming, or IT systems (preferred for full-time expanded role)
