What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Worker position at Alabama Baptist Children's Homes & Family Ministries?
Coordinate intake, orientation, and admission of clients into the Adoption/Reunification/Kinship (ARK) Program.
• Assess information about the client’s biopsychosocial history and current functioning.
• Evaluate the needs of the client for the purpose of Adoption, Reunification, and Kinship Services.
• Develop and monitor a case plan for each client.
• Evaluate the progress of each client.
• Work with foster parents to create supportive relationships with birth parents and relative caregivers.
• Make referrals and work with other community resources as needed.
• Advocate for the service needs of children and their foster families for the purpose of adoption, reunification, and kinship care.
• Maintain case records in an updated and efficient manner in compliance with ABCH Standards.
• Work in a cooperative relationship with the assigned ABCH Foster Care Social Workers and DHR and under the supervision of the ARK Foster Care Specialist.
• Promote the Ministry relations and be a liaison with local churches and associations.
• Represent the Ministry’s vision and mission to groups, individuals, and referring agencies in a professional and objective manner.
• Work in a cooperative relationship with the legal system by representing the Ministry.
Qualifications:• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work from a college or university accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
• Current license to practice Social Work issued by the Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners, or license eligible. •
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
