American Leadership Academy-Blythewood Elementary is now accepting applications for a Part Time MLP Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic school year. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check.
The MLP Teacher is a dedicated and supportive guide, fostering a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for students. An effective MLP Teacher encourages students to express themselves and engage with diverse cultures, with an emphasis on building confidence. The MLP Teacher inspires students to develop their language skills to help them thrive both academically and socially.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Evaluate the performance of students regarding achievement in curriculum and activities; makes necessary provisions to meet learning needs.
- Analyze and evaluate student progress and course curriculum.
- Participate in MLP team meetings.
- Implement co-teaching, pull-out, and push-in support services for MLP students as appropriate.
- Assist with testing MLP students for language proficiency in accordance with state guidelines.
- Communicate with parents of MLP students to ensure they are informed of methods of evaluation utilized in the classroom, student success, school activities, and instructional methods.
- Communicate and collaborate with School Administration regarding student progress and implementation of SEI model.
- Design lessons based on the English Language Proficiency standards appropriate to student grade level and proficiency band.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- South Carolina Teaching Certificate with MLP Endorsement
- Pass applicable background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field
