Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Leader that is bilingual in English/Spanish and is comfortable working in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation and food safety, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
The successful candidate will be responsible for customer statisfaction, working with staff, managing and supervising. We'll provide the training you need to provide excellent customer service and feel comfortable working at any station - grill, cashier, prep, salsa, etc. You will be hands on in connecting with customers, fellow team members, cooks, and keeping the restaurant clean and looking fantastic!
In this role of Shift Leader, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional dining experiences as a cashier and by assisting in food preparation, cooking, washing dishes, cleaning grills, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment and other tasks assigned. You will work collaboratively with other team members to ensure that all food safety standards are met while providing outstanding customer service.
Duties
- Take customer orders.
- Prepare customer orders.
- Make handmade tortillas.
- Assist restaurant team members and customers at all times.
- Assist kitchen staff and prep.
- Responsible for Opening/MidDay/Closing procedures
- Clean grill, hood, equipment, etc.
- Supervise and train of new staff.
- Delegate and assign tasks.
- Implement and follow a cleaning schedule.
- Assist with scheduling, ordering, inventory, cost and waste control...
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper handling of food items.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Assist in food preparation and cooking according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and bussing tables.
- Other tasks assigned.
Experience:
- Previous management experience: (Required)
- Fast Casual Restaurant : 1 year (Required)
- Food Handlers Certificate: (Required)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) Required
- Strong supervisory skills, capable of motivating, leading and developing associates. (Required)
- Weekend Availability (Required)
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in food preparation and culinary skills is preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Sales skills with a focus on upselling menu items to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Proven customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications.
- Previous experience in the food industry, including quick service & fast food restaurants or cafés, is advantageous.
