Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development for infants and toddlers
- Provide attentive care that meets each child's individual needs, including feeding, diapering, soothing, and health monitoring
- Create a safe and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning through play
- Maintain open communication with parents and guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and daily experiences
- Support classroom management by organizing activities, managing supplies, and ensuring a clean, organized space conducive to learning
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures and emergency response plans
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, participate in ongoing training (including special education or behavior management techniques), and enhance classroom effectiveness
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with infants and toddlers in a daycare or preschool setting is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in early childhood education
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as special education or working with children with disabilities are a plus
- Strong classroom management skills coupled with patience, compassion, and excellent communication abilities
- Ability to engage children through nurturing caregiving, creative activities, and positive behavior guidance
- Experience with caregiving roles such as nannying or babysitting is beneficial but not mandatory
- A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their growth during critical developmental stages
