What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Accountant position at Al Fresco Landscaping?
We are looking for a construction project accountant to join our team! You will be the primary accounting and administrative support for construction projects, from project startup to final closeout.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare, monitor, and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
- Cost tracking: Track all project expenditures, revenue, and commitments, analyzing variances against budgets.
- Reporting: Prepare timely financial reports for management, detailing project performance, profitability, and risks.
- Billing & Invoicing: Manage project billing cycles, generate invoices, process payments, and track collections. Assess and pursue opportunities for maximization of client billing and communicate to project manager.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant regulations.
- Analysis & Support: Provide financial analysis, investigate cost overruns, and offer insights to project managers.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate project financial records, contracts, and documentation.
- Month-End Close: Assist with month-end closing activities.
Qualifications
- Accounting: fundamental knowledge of GAAP, strong understanding of accounting principles, budget management, financial reporting, cost control, and data analysis.
- Analytical – excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Continuous Learning - Assesses own strengths and weaknesses; strives to continuously build knowledge and skills.
