Duration: 11 months
Rate Range: Up to$89/hr on W2 depending on experience (no C2C or 1099 or sub-contract)
Work Authorization: GC, USC, All valid EADs except OPT, CPT, H1B
Must Have:
1. Industry & Domain Experience
- Strong experience with film, post-production, or studio workflows (Deluxe, Pixelogic, Premiere Digital, etc.).
- Ability to understand localization, subtitling, packaging, and delivery workflows.
2. Interaction & UX Design Depth
- Strong in interaction design, including mapping workflows and defining user interaction paradigms.
- Experience simplifying complex, operational systems (not consumer apps).
3. Video-Centric Design Experience
Designing interfaces tied to video timelines and media review tasks.
4. Tools & Technical Capability
- High proficiency in Figma (critical).
- Adobe Suite familiarity.
- Ability to create UX diagrams, flows, and UI components.
5. Portfolio Requirements
- Must show ability to take complex systems and make them intuitive.
- Must include workflows, rationale, and design reasoning (not just polished visuals).
6. Work & Logistics Requirements
- Ability to be onsite 4 days per week across Studio Lot, Burbank Center, or GC3.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred/required for P3 conversion.
- Immediate availability for fast-paced scheduling and multi-round interviews.
Responsibilities:
- Lead UX for internal platforms that orchestrate post-production-to-distribution workflows (localization, subtitles, packaging, QC).
- Design agentic, human-in-the-loop interactions: task assignment, audit/traceability, exception handling, approvals.
- Build video-timeline interfaces enabling role-specific review (e.g., translators validating AI-proposed subtitles against picture/dialogue).
- Translate current manual processes into future-state AI-assisted experiences; define journeys, IA, and UI architecture.
- Produce production-ready specs (flows, states, empty/error cases, accessibility) and partner closely with engineering for delivery.
- Contribute to and evolve design systems for internal studio tools.
- Conduct targeted user research with operational stakeholders; synthesize insights into actionable requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (Design, HCI, CS, or related) preferred.
- Proven success simplifying high-complexity, high-variability enterprise workflows without losing configurability.
- Experience designing for governance, reliability, and auditability in operational tools.
- Strong communication with cross-functional partners; comfortable presenting rationale and trade-offs.
- Domain familiarity with media operations/post-production or adjacent complex operations is highly preferred.
