COORDINATOR, TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT

The Akron Board of Education announces an opening for Coordinator, Technology Support. This position is covered under the School Employees Retirement Services (SERS) retirement system and is assigned to a full 12-month schedule.
Salary Range (effective 07/01/2024) $91,187.74 - $110,338.98

Position summary: The Coordinator, Technology Support is responsible for development and management of building-based technology support services and to ensure effective support and user learning while supporting and implementing technology initiatives across the district. This position is actively engaged in the development and delivery of technology training programs, active supervision of assigned staff members, and a strong focus on project coordination and management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field, or an Associate's Degree in a non-related field plus experience with technology services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a technology-related field.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License.
  • Must be willing to frequently travel/visit school locations within the district.
  • May require limited travel outside of district.

Preferred:

  • Master's Degree in Technology, Education, or related field.
  • Prior experience with management and supervision of staff.
  • Prior experience working in a K-12 school district setting.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop, foster and cultivate partnerships and relationships.
  • Ability to work independently to meet established deadlines and commitments.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions: The following duties are representative of the performance expectations, however, this is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, functions, duties, and/or skills required to perform this position.

  • Reports to the Executive Director, Technology Services.
  • Assists with support for implementation and monitoring of the District's strategic plan.
  • Develop and implement employee staff development and training programs for assigned staff. Ensure staff compliance with training and development programs.
  • Assign, schedule, develop and monitor all designated staff members. Complete staff performance reviews in a timely manner and according to established policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate departmental and organizational projects as needed.
  • Develop and implement work rules and procedures.
  • Perform supervisory duties according to District policies and applicable laws.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support technology specialists assigned to District buildings.
  • Prepare written reports and analysis of data as required.
  • Maintenance and monitoring for ISafe programs. Ensure student certification and required compliance for E-rate and other programs as assigned.
  • Develop and deliver District-wide training for staff as required.
  • Coordinate and participate in the interview and selection process for open positions in assigned area.
  • Conducts ongoing and regular reviews of technology service functions, processes and procedures in order to make recommendations and meet continuous improvement objectives.
