Summary
The Quality Initiative Specialist facilitates, coordinates and provides quality advisor support to teams at all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Supports use of quality improvement (QI) methodology and tools to improve process measures and outcome measures for and with QI teams across the Hospital system
- Responsible for supporting the collection, coordination and analysis of data that measures clinical processes and patient outcomes
- Using quality improvement methodology, coaches/consults departments and interdisciplinary teams in identifying, prioritizing and implementing improvement strategies that enhances overall Hospital quality efforts
- Assists departments in implementing evidence-based practice
- Educates staff on the Institute for Healthcare Improvement's (IHI) Model for Improvement methodology
- Serve as Quality Advisors for hospital teams and committees
- Maintains ongoing knowledge of current Quality literature, resources, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS), The Joint Commission (TJC) and other regulatory agency standards
- Other duties as required.
- Experience in Quality Improvement Methodology
- Experience in data collection and simple analysis
- Experience developing and leading teams
- Experience working with all levels within an organization
- Experience in healthcare is preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required
- Education: Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree is preferred.
- Certification: Performance Improvement (PI) certification is preferred.
- Years of relevant experience: 3 to 5 years is preferred.
- Years of experience supervising: None.
