The Volunteer Office Coordinator assists Volunteer Services staff and volunteers as needed to help meet the goals and objectives of the department and the mission of the Akron Children's Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Promptly greets and assists volunteers and visitors. Answers incoming phone calls.
- Serves as primary individual accepting gift donations on behalf of the Hospital.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of storage rooms, files, and craft areas.
- Coordinates volunteer projects with departments throughout the organization.
- Maintain intake, file maintenance, and ongoing program needs for the Doggie Brigade.
- Serves as primary purchasing coordinator and clerical support for the Department.
- Assists Volunteer staff in processing potential volunteers.
- Other duties as required.
Technical Expertise
- Experience in working with volunteers is required.
- Experience in working with dogs is required.
- Experience in customer service is required.
- Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
- Experience in healthcare is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Knowledge of volunteer management software is preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's degree is preferred
- Certification: None.
- Years of relevant experience: 3 to 5 years is preferred.
- Years of experience supervising: None.
