What are the responsibilities and job description for the Datacenter Technician position at Akkodis?

Note: we do have one Data Center Technician Lead role open in Washington DC Metro $35/ hr on W2
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years of experience in data center operations, hardware installation, cable installation, structured cabling, telecommunications, or another hands-on technical field preferred.
- Experience using basic hand tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to read and follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Comfortable learning proprietary processes through hands-on training.
- Basic computer proficiency, including email and web-based applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a data center environment.
- Familiarity with fiber optic or structured cabling installations.
- Experience assembling or servicing server racks and related infrastructure.
- Previous experience supporting large-scale infrastructure deployment projects.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a larger project team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, and reaching while working inside equipment rows.
- Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks with precision over extended periods.
- Comfortable working in active data center environments while adhering to strict safety protocols.
Work Environment
- Travel between multiple campuses within the assigned metro area Washington, DC Metro.
- Will provide all project-specific technical training.
- An Akkodis team lead may be assigned to support coordination and project accountability.
Salary : $30 - $32
