Summary:

Akkodis is seeking a CAD Manager/Lead CAD Designer for a DIRECT HIRE position in the Katy, TX area. The desired candidate will have 10 years of previous experience in CAD design for electrical industrial applications. The CAD Manager will be a proactive leader with a strong electrical design foundation, capable of overseeing production quality and guiding a lean team of CAD professionals across multiple projects. A strong expertise in Revit and AutoCAD is required. This is an excellent opportunity to support an exciting company in the electrical engineering industry.

***Remote 1 day/week, and off every other Friday***

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with the engineering team to ensure drawing accuracy and alignment with project goals
• Support project development efforts using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design tools
• Prepare detailed electrical and instrumentation drawings that align with client specifications and industry standards
• Apply design and analysis expertise to produce clear, thorough, and compliant documentation
• Manage workload distribution and ensure high-quality deliverables from the CAD design team
• Work effectively in a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and project stakeholders
• Provide regular status updates and feedback to engineering leads and project management
• Actively communicate design concepts and project updates with technical teams and project managers
• Participate in client meetings as needed to clarify requirements and review project milestones

Required Skills:

• Bachelors Degree in an Engineering related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant drafting experience is required.
• MUST HAVE electrical design experience for industrial systems like water/wastewater, oil/gas, etc.
• Strong background in both AutoCAD and Revit is required.
• Revit Dynamic Families: Experience creating and managing Dynamic Families in Revit is highly desirable.
• Autodesk Construction Cloud and ProjectWise: Demonstrated experience working within these platforms to manage project workflows and documentation.
• Familiarity with MicroStation and AGi32 is considered a plus.
• Proven experience managing a small team of drafters across multiple projects, ensuring quality and consistency in deliverables.
• A proactive, solution-oriented approach to challenges, with a focus on team success.
• Strong ability to foster and maintain professional, cross-functional relationships.
