Electrical Engineering Lead

Akkodis is seeking an Electrical Engineering Lead for a Contract job with a client in Schenectady, NY. We are looking for applicants with experience in electrical engineering for gas and steam power plant projects, including detailed design and stakeholder management.

Rate Range: $37.87/hour to $41.67/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Electrical Engineering Lead Job Responsibilities Include

• Provide technical support during application, design, and installation phases of contract negotiation and implementation.
• Coordinate engineering support with sourcing, services, requisition engineering, global engineering, and equipment suppliers.
• Lead development and application of electrical Material Shipped Direct (MSD) equipment for gas or steam turbine generators.
• Partner with requisition management to reduce cycle time and improve processes from order definition through commercial operation.
• Commit to and meet on-time performance targets for internal engineering and customer deliverables.
• Lead generator and electrical equipment discussions at customer meetings (domestic and global).
• Drive requisition goals and objectives, champion cost-saving projects, and manage risk strategies for hardware issues.
  
  

Desired Qualifications

• Education: BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• 10–15 years of experience in detailed engineering for gas and steam power plant projects.
• Expertise in design work for electrical equipment such as MCC, batteries, generator breakers, grounding equipment, AC/DC panels, cable sizing, transformers, and interconnection works.
• Strong knowledge of NEC standards and experience developing plant Single Line Diagrams and technical specifications.
• Experience reviewing supplier drawings and documentation, managing stakeholders, and preparing deviation lists.

Pay Details: $37.87 to $41.67 per hour
