The opportunity
An established defense and aerospace manufacturer in Longmont needs a senior CNC Programmer/Machinist to program and machine high-precision, complex components. The parts go into mission-critical systems, so tolerances are tight and quality comes first.
This is a senior hands-on role. You own parts from Mastercam program to finished, verified component, and you train and guide the machinists around you.
What you’ll do
- Program CNC machines in Mastercam from blueprints, technical documentation and internal standards
- Machine complex, high-precision components to tight tolerances
- Run first-off parts and monitor machining, spotting malfunctions or out-of-tolerance cuts and adjusting as needed
- Read and apply blueprints and advanced GD&T
- Check dimensions and alignment with hand tools and measurement equipment
- Support quality assurance and keep safety standards high
- Train and mentor other members of the manufacturing team
- Lead troubleshooting and write up the fixes, and contribute to continuous improvement
What you’ll bring
- 3 years of machining experience
- 3 years programming CNC machines in Mastercam
- 3 years applying GD&T in a production environment
- A proven record of holding tight tolerances on complex parts
- Strong blueprint reading and math skills
- Clear communication and the patience to teach others
- High school diploma or equivalent. A certificate in precision machining is a plus.
