Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Position Overview
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will work under the direct clinical supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to assist in delivering rehabilitative services to patients. The PTA will support treatments, exercise programs, patient education, and documentation while maintaining a safe, sanitary, and culturally respectful clinical environment.
Responsibilities
-Assist the PT in administering therapeutic exercises, modalities, and rehabilitative techniques
-Support patient evaluations and treatment activities under PT supervision
-Monitor and document patient response to treatment and report changes to the supervising PT
-Guide patients in activities of daily living, ambulation, and exercise programs
-Maintain accurate clinical notes and treatment documentation
-Assist in maintaining therapy facilities and equipment sanitation
-Contribute to patient and caregiver education regarding therapy programs
-Participate in scheduled trainings and facility orientation
-Demonstrate professionalism and cultural respect when working with Native American communities
Required Qualifications
-Current certification/license as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a U.S. jurisdiction
-Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and physical therapy care techniques
-Current BLS certification
-Ability to successfully complete federal background screening and credentialing processes
-Required immunizations and TB screening
-Experience supporting outpatient therapy care
Preferred Qualifications
-Prior experience working in tribal healthcare or rural communities
-Familiarity with electronic health record systems
