What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinarian position at Akeso Veterinary Clinic?
A Calmer Way to Practice
Akeso Veterinary Clinic | Canonsburg, PA
Full Time Veterinarian
Akeso Veterinary Clinic is a small, independently owned, woman led companion animal practice seeking a full-time veterinarian who enjoys thoughtful medicine, strong client relationships, and working as part of a close-knit team.
We are a young, growing practice, expanding thoughtfully and with careful consideration. As we grow, we are excited to welcome a veterinarian who is interested in becoming an integral part of a collaborative medical team. We value shared perspective, open conversation, and learning alongside one another. We are also planning a transition to a newly renovated facility within the next 12 months, designed to support both patient care and team workflow.
Our practice is appointment based, with 30-to-45-minute visits. We are not a walk in or emergency clinic. This structure allows time for conversation, education, and clinical reasoning. Our medicine is rooted in general practice and preventive care, with some urgent care woven into the schedule. These cases are managed thoughtfully and do not resemble emergency room pace or volume.
Surgery and dental procedures are welcome but optional, depending on interest.
We believe good medicine includes knowing when to pause, ask questions, and work through options with clients. Our role is to help owners understand choices and next steps. Kindness, humility, and clear communication guide how we support clients, patients, and one another.
We offer a hybrid model of curbside and in person appointments, and we are supported by nearby specialty and emergency hospitals including MedVet and BluePearl, both within ten miles. This role is well suited for a veterinarian who enjoys general practice, client interaction, collaboration and who is interested in contributing meaningfully to a small, supportive team.
