Akerman is seeking a Researcher to join the firm’s Library Services Department. The preferred location for this position is in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Miami, and Orlando. Working with the Research Services team, this position supports attorneys and staff, and reports to the Director of Research Services.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform high quality research and reference assistance to attorneys and staff using legal, business and news online and print resources.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the firm’s available online and print research resources.
- Monitor and provide alerts on various legal, industry, client or subject topics for attorneys and staff.
- Provide research skills training and orientation to attorneys and staff.
- Develop and maintain relationships with attorneys and staff to promote the Research Services team.
We require a Masters of Library Sciences degree, and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a law firm library or similar setting. Candidates must possess strong organizational and problem solving skills. The candidate must have a proficiency with Westlaw, Lexis Advance, Bloomberg Law, Wolters Kluwer Cheetah and other legal and business research databases. The candidate must be able to work independently and efficiently under pressure and be able to thrive within the firm’s highly dynamic environment.
