General Purpose of Job
Assembling, installing and perform service to various types of residential garage doors. Ability to troubleshoot repair issues for all types of sectional overhead doors. This position will also install and repair garage door operators, replace springs, cables and photo eyes. This position will perform assembly, installation and service of various types of commercial garage doors including rolling steel and fire doors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
● Skilled with hand tools and power tools. Installers need to provide their own tools.
● Ability to lift heavy product, while working safely in commercial and residential settings.
● Responsible for loading materials at warehouse and unloading at site.
● Ability to work independently and on a team of installers/technicians.
● Valid driver's license and clean driving record is required. A company vehicle and gas card will be provided. Installer is responsible for the appearance (both inside and out) of the vehicle.
● Must have a cellphone - partial monthly reimbursement for cell phone is provided.
● Positive attitude with superior customer service skills.
● Contacting customer prior to install, interacting with customers during install and collecting payment after install.
● Completing accurate paperwork with timely submission to supervisor for customer billing.
● Completing all work assigned each day.
● Regularly using a ladder (typically 4 ft or 6 ft) to install springs, cables and openers.
Skill, Competency, and Experience Requirements
● High school diploma or GED required.
● Two (2) years of experience preferred, but will train if you have construction experience.
● Strong communication and customer service skills needed.
Physical Demands
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds or more with assistance.
Pay
- 2 years of garage door installation or garage door service experience $30-$35 per hour
- No experience $20-$25 per hour and we will train
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25.0 – 45.0 per week
