Job Description:
The Physician Assistant Service at Akebia Therapeutics provides quality, professional, cost-effective health care to all patients. Physician assistants (PAs) practice medicine under the supervision of a licensed physician, fulfilling a broad range of medical services that would otherwise be provided by the physician.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform initial assessments, histories, and physical examinations
- Order and interpret tests and results
- Document care in the chart according to hospital policy and procedure
- Formulate diagnoses and treatment plans
- Consult with physicians when required
- Reassess patients and provide emergency medical care
Requirements:
- Graduate of a PA program accredited by The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant
- Current NCCPA certification
- Current New York State license as Registered Physician Assistant
- Current BLS & ACLS documentation
- Current Pediatric Life Support (PALS) documentation
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) documentation
