The world is making the shift to cleaner energy, slowly. The planet is changing, fast.

That’s why Akaysha builds, owns, and operates the most powerful mega-scale battery storage solutions of today, and it’s why we’ll continue to build more. But what we are really building is a better future for everyone we share the planet with.

With a 30GWh portfolio spanning APAC, the Americas, and the EU and a global team of over 200, should we slow down, or should the world catch up?

As we head into planning for our next phase of growth, we’re looking for a Senior Manager, People Enablement, to join us on an initial contract basis.

This is a senior, hands‑on role with meaningful scope to strengthen and scale people practices as the organisation grows in size, complexity and geographic reach. Reporting to the General Manager, People, you’ll play a key role in turning our people strategy into consistent, high‑quality execution across the business. You’ll work closely with leaders and People Partners to ensure people decisions are fair, equitable, practical and scalable.

This role suits someone who enjoys operating at pace, making sense of complexity, and helping good systems work even better in a fast‑moving environment. We work hybrid, with an average of 2-3 days per week of in-office facetime. This role can be delivered from either Melbourne or Sydney.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead, coach and enable the People Partnering function, lifting consistency, judgment, and pace across the team
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex, sensitive or ambiguous people matters
  • Translate policy intent into practical processes, tools, systems and ways of working that leaders can use
  • Use data and qualitative insight to spot patterns early and form clear, grounded recommendations
  • Partner on workforce planning, goals and remuneration cycle execution, bringing commercial judgement to people decisions
  • Operationalise and execute people risk, compliance and governance frameworks through disciplined follow‑through across People Partnering
  • Apply ER/IR judgement when needed to strengthen capability and confidence across the function (it’s not the bulk of the role, but it matters)

How we work

  • We constantly strive to use a human‑centred lens to design people practices that are practical, usable and scalable; we take a lot of inspiration from product teams
  • “Clear is kind” is a real standard here. We value clarity, fast decisions and saying things in the room
  • We use AI to move faster and reduce admin, with strong judgement and responsible use
  • We appreciate respectful challenge. We want people who can spot what’s off, name it early, and help land the right call
  • We reflect, learn, share, and connect meaningfully as a team to better ourselves, and the people that we support

What will set you up for success

  • Strong cognitive agility. You connect dots quickly, pull signal from noise, and communicate a clear point of view
  • Comfortable pivoting between clear direction and open space to design the path forward
  • Senior People or HR partnering experience, with sound employee relations judgement
  • A pragmatic, calm style. Clear, kind and accountable in how you work with leaders and teams

Why Akaysha

  • Purpose‑led work contributing directly to the global energy transition
  • Senior exposure and influence during a critical growth and planning phase
  • A highly capable, collaborative People team with strong foundations
  • Flexibility, trust and a focus on outcomes

This role is offered as an initial contract, aligned to a defined period of growth and planning, with meaningful impact from day one.

We’re committed to staying ahead of the curve and consider our people to be Akaysha’s greatest asset.

To foster career growth and wellbeing we offer professional development support that includes an annual development allowance, additional paid time off, and internal academy courses alongside wellbeing allowance benefits, parental leave, and competitive compensation with performance-based bonuses, and long-term incentives.

We believe diverse teams build better solutions for the planet and its people. We’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels respected, supported, and able to do their best work, no matter their background, identity, or lived experience.
