Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Appian Technical Architect to own and manage the Appian platform end-to-end. This role will guide technical architecture, oversee environment
management, coordinate With cross-functional teams and vendors, and lead upgrade and enhancement planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical owner of the Appian platform - including environment strategy, configuration. performance, and stability.
- Plan and execute Appian upgrades. patches. capacity scaling. and environment refreshes.
- Define and enforce architecture standards, best practices, design patterns, and governance for Appian implementations.
- Collaborate with business, delivery teams, infrastructure, information security, and external vendors to ensure reliable and compliant platform operations.
- Review solution designs and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and performance requirements.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for high-priority incidents.
- Support DevOps/CI-CD pipelines for Appian deployments and promote modern automation practices.
- Maintain platform documentation, runbooks. and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Years of hands-on Appian experience. including architecture and environment management
- Strong understanding Of Appian components: Records, Data Fabric/CDTs, SAIL, process models, integrations, plug-ins, RPA.
- proven experience with upgrades, performance tuning, and environment configuration (Appian Cloud and self-managed).
- Solid knowledge of integration patterns (REST ''SOAP, queues, JOBC).
- Experience working with security teams on SSO, SAMLJOIDC, RBAC, and platform hardening.
- Experience with identity and access management and platform security
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills
- Appian Lead Developer certification.
- Experience working with Appian Support and vendor partners.
- Background in financial services or other regulated environments,
- Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, and monitoring tools (Splunk/ELWAppDynamics, etc.).
