Painter

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Painter to join our dynamic construction and renovation team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to a variety of surfaces across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your expertise will help transform spaces, enhance aesthetics, and ensure durable protection of structures. Duties

• Prepare surfaces thoroughly through cleaning, sanding, scraping, caulking, plastering, and surface priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality.
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and schematics to accurately execute painting projects according to specifications.
• Apply paint using various methods including brush painting, roller painting, spray painting with conventional sprayers or airless paint spraying equipment.
• Perform construction site surface preparation tasks such as sanding drywall, masonry work like stucco or concrete finishing, and masonry repairs.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for surface preparation, fixture installation, and minor carpentry tasks like trim carpentry or framing.
• Conduct coating applications on structural elements and perform industrial or commercial painting with specialized coatings for durability.
• Follow strict safety regulations by wearing respiratory protection, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining a clean work environment to prevent accidents.
• Read and interpret blueprints or schematics to ensure precise application of paint schemes and color matching based on visual color comparison techniques.
• Assist with renovation projects by performing tasks such as fixture installation, restoration work, drywall repair, caulking, and general handyman duties.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work progress, safety compliance reports, and project completion records.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction painting including residential, commercial, or industrial settings with a solid understanding of surface preparation techniques.
• Knowledge of construction estimating processes related to painting projects is a plus.
• Familiarity with color theory principles for accurate color matching and aesthetic consistency.
• Ability to operate ladders safely for high-reach areas along with experience using scaffolding if necessary.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers; power tools including drills and sanders; and spray equipment like paint sprayers.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations related to construction painting including respiratory protection protocols.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately for precise project execution.
• Experience with blueprint reading and surface assessment techniques for proper surface preparation.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to coating thicknesses or material quantities.
• Additional skills in carpentry (trim carpentry or frame carpentry), plastering, masonry (stucco or concrete finishing), welding or fixture installation are advantageous.
• Construction site experience demonstrating adherence to safety standards while maintaining productivity in fast-paced environments.
