Job Summary
Milling/Paving company in north jersey seeks a foreman/superintendent to oversee and manage construction projects. Projects include milling, paving, concrete, and utility work. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 to 10 years experience. Salary is based on experience and knowledge. Work truck and benefits are available upon hire.
Duties
- Lead construction crews and manage day-to-day site operations to ensure project milestones are achieved efficiently.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to guide construction activities accurately.
- Oversee safety protocols in compliance with OSHA regulations and federal construction safety standards, fostering a culture of safety on-site.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services aligned with project timelines.
- Monitor project budgets, track costs, and manage contracts to ensure financial targets are met without compromising quality.
- Supervise the review of construction drawings and schematics for accuracy before work begins.
- Coordinate construction schedules across multiple teams to optimize workflow and resource allocation.
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA standards and federal regulations related to construction safety.
- Lead team meetings, provide clear managerial communication, and supervise crew management activities for optimal performance.
Skills
- Extensive experience in heavy civil or commercial construction management roles with proven supervisory capabilities.
- Strong understanding of construction regulations, safety protocols (OSHA), and federal safety standards.
- Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Excellent project scheduling skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective management of teams on active construction sites with a focus on crew management and supervision.
- Knowledge of budgeting processes including cost tracking and contract management.
- Strong communication skills for managing subcontractors, clients, vendors, and internal teams effectively.
