Overview
AJH Tax and Consulting LLC is looking for a Licensed Tax Professional with a minimum of 3 years of recent experience preparing complex individual and business tax returns to join our team. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, highly organized, possesses a baseline understanding of tax documents, and is comfortable communicating with clients and tax authorities alike. This is an on-site position; remote or hybrid work is not available at this time.

We offer a full-time schedule of 34 - 40 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime during the regular tax season and reduced hours off-season. Yes, we take Fridays off during the summer!

Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, business, and corporate tax returns with accuracy and attention to detail (Forms 1040, 1120, 1120S, and 1065)
- Provide expert advice on tax planning strategies, deductions, credits, and compliance requirements
- Reconciling books (if needed) and preparing adjusting journal entries
- Organize and prepare source documents and workpapers
- Ability to recognize, research, document, and accurately resolve tax notices
- Work with clients who have prior-year unfiled returns or amendments
- Assist with tax planning for individuals and businesses
- Conduct client consultations and communicate recommendations clearly
- Stay current on changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and optimal results
- Deliver excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries promptly and professionally
What you bring to the role:
- An Active Tax Preparer License (LTC, EA, or CPA) and PTIN
- At least 3 years of recent, paid, hands-on tax preparation experience
- A solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel).
- Experience with tax software (UltraTax preferred), Workflow Management, and Adobe PDF.
- Have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations for individual and business tax returns
Pay: $28.00 - $45.00 per hour
