Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant Toddler Teacher to join our early childhood education team. In this role, you will support other classroom teachers in creating a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment for toddlers. Your primary focus will be fostering developmental growth through age-appropriate activities, ensuring the well-being of each child, and assisting with daily classroom routines. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about early childhood education and childcare to make a positive impact on young learners. The ideal candidate would be available 9:30-6:00.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing daily lesson plans and educational activities tailored for toddlers
- Support classroom management and behavior guidance to promote positive social interactions
- Help supervise children during playtime, meals, nap times, and other routines
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment in compliance with health and safety standards
- Provide emotional support and comfort to children as needed
- Support lead teachers in documenting developmental progress and communicating with parents
- Assist with diapering, feeding, and other caregiving duties appropriate for toddler care
- Participate in ongoing training related to childhood development, safety procedures, and classroom management techniques
Skills
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or similar settings
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-appropriate activities for toddlers
- First aid certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire
- Strong understanding of classroom management and behavior management strategies
- Ability to work effectively with children with disabilities or special needs
- Experience with infant care, caregiving, babysitting, nannying, or related roles is a plus
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and engaging with parents
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine passion for early childhood education and nurturing young learners
