Position Summary
Ajay North America (Ajay-SQM Group) is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Maintenance Technician to support preventive and corrective maintenance activities at our chemical manufacturing facility in Powder Springs, GA. This position plays a key role in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations through hands-on equipment care, calibrations, and mechanical troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on pumps, motors, valves, mixers, instrumentation, and utilities according to established PM schedules.
- Conduct corrective maintenance (CM) to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Assist in plant calibrations and checks of production scales, load cells, and related instrumentation to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Support routine inspections of production areas, utilities, and safety systems.
- Participate in installation and start-up of new or modified equipment.
- Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards in maintenance areas.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and quality policies including lockout/tagout, confined space entry, PPE, and chemical handling procedures.
- Collaborate with operators, engineers, and supervisors to identify reliability or efficiency improvements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical trade school or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or related field preferred.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
- Familiarity with tools, multimeters, and calibration equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Willingness to learn and work in a chemical plant environment (training provided).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or in elevated areas.
