Working for a world class leader in pressure vessel fabrication, at Aitken Manufacturing Inc. Welder brings his/her expertise and knowledge in fabrication to build some of the most complex and high profile projects in the Oil & Gas, Energy, Chemical, & Processing industrial segments. Critical to the production process this position welds a large variety of materials using the following welding processes: FCAW, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW and SAW. The production welder utilizes a high degree of proficiency while utilizing full skills of the trade including knowledge of common heat reactions of metals.
Core Responsibilities

Follows applicable welding procedures (ASME, AWS, AISC)

Welds on ground level, above ground and below ground, in any required position.

Chips peens and grinds material to prepare for welding or finish.

Welds structural materials such as pipe, plates, sheets, tanks, etc., occasionally involving uncommon structural metals or machine metals under close tolerances of heat application and workmanship.

Perform gouging and scarfing as needed.

Capable of passing welding test in accordance to ASME Sec. IX in conformance to ASME Sec. VIII, Div. 1.

Keeps work area organized and clean.

Transport material by crane as needed and required.

Must adhere to and follow all safety rules and PPE requirements.

Familiar with the safe use of: Ransom type manipulators (turntable), overhead crane, forklift, and oxy fuel equipment.
Education/Training

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and/or 12 months of stable work experience.

Must pass ASME required weld test.
Work Experience
-
At least three (3) years of experience welding pressure vessels required.
