Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to modernize and extend Slack-based operational tools supporting network, connectivity, and security workflows. This role is focused on building reliable, maintainable, and scalable backend systems on Google Cloud, exposing infrastructure capabilities through intuitive interfaces.

While AI technologies may be leveraged for intent detection and automation, success in this role will be measured by system reliability, clarity of design, and operational outcomes.

Core Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain production-grade backend services on Google Cloud.

• Extend and operate Slack-based applications (events, interactive components, Block Kit).

• Integrate with infrastructure tools via secure, well-defined APIs.

• Implement deterministic, auditable workflows for infrastructure operations.

• Apply strong engineering practices: testing, logging, observability, error handling, and documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong software engineering background with Python (or equivalent backend language).

• Proven experience building and operating production systems in cloud environments.

• Hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) services, including:

  • Compute (GKE, Cloud Run, Compute Engine)

  • Networking and IAM

  • Logging and monitoring (Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring)

  • Secure secret management

• Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs with authentication, retries, and failure handling.

• Experience building Slack applications using Slack APIs and Block Kit.

• Ability to work effectively with large or unfamiliar codebases and reason about design trade-offs.

• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform AI services, such as:

  • Vertex AI (model endpoints, orchestration, evaluation)

  • Gemini APIs (real-time or multimodal use cases)

  • Agent Development Kit (ADK) or similar frameworks
