Summary:
The Assembly Lead provides leadership to the assembly team by coordinating their workloads, providing support to team members, monitoring department issues, ensuring the teams production is completed, and meets quality standards required by the customer.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing new job prints and folder information before assigning to Tool Builders to ensure the data is complete.
  • Ensuring the Tool Builder(s) clearly understand the requirements and expectations to meet the job due date and budget.
  • Ensuring Quality is built into every assigned Assembly Tool being built by their group.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner and uses safe work habits.
  • Read, understand, and follow advanced job order specifications, blueprints, work instructions and procedures.
  • Assembles and fastens component parts of together, using hand tools, power tools, or bench machines.
  • Measures and marks reference lines and points on parts according to specifications, using template, rule, or marking device.
  • Cuts materials, such as fabric, metal, paper, or wood into specified dimensions or shapes, using cutting machine, scissors, or knife.
  • Inspects, tests, and verifies accuracy of assembled article for conformance to standards, using measuring or testing equipment, or by visual examination.
  • Adjusts, repairs, or replaces defective product parts, using hand tools.
  • Cleans dust, dirt, and other foreign matter from material or machine surfaces, using cleaning solution, rag, air hose.
  • Lifts, loads, sorts, and moves materials, supplies, and finished products between storage and work areas, using push-cart, hoist, or dolly.
  • Reviews new projects prior to meeting with their team; provides the team with building plans and assembly hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Three to five years of related experience and/or training.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements:
  • This position may require a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Conditions:Environment Type:
  • Indoors. Production and office environment. Temperature controlled, unless products and/or equipment is located outdoors.

Work Hours:
  • Standard work schedule, overtime may be necessary for meeting deadlines.
Travel Requirements:
  • This position may involve travel up to 10% of the time.
Physical Demands:

  • Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • Operate a motor vehicle, forklift, and/or other heavy equipment.
  • Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.
  • Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
  • Read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and operation of machines.
