About the Role:
Rockwoods is seeking a Process Engineer with strong experience designing and optimizing credit union/Banking operations, especially within small business lending, onboarding, and servicing. This role is ideal for someone who can analyze end to end workflows, eliminate inefficiencies, and build scalable processes that improve member experience and operational performance.
You will partner with lending, operations, compliance, digital banking, and technology teams to create standardized, efficient, and compliant processes across the Bank.
What You'll Do:
- Map and optimize workflows across small business lending, onboarding, KYC, servicing, and account management.
- Design operational processes that reduce manual work, improve turnaround times, and enhance member experience.
- Analyze current state operations to identify bottlenecks, risks, and automation opportunities.
- Develop SOPs, process documentation, and training materials for credit union teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across lending, underwriting, compliance, and IT to ensure process alignment.
- Support system integrations with core platforms (Symitar, Fiserv, FIS), LOS systems, and fintech partners.
- Ensure compliance alignment with NCUA, SBA, AML/KYC, and internal audit requirements.
- Measure process performance using KPIs, dashboards, and continuous improvement frameworks.
What You Bring:
- 4 8 years of experience in process engineering, operations design, or business process improvement within a credit union or community bank.
- Strong understanding of small business lending, SBA workflows, and business member operations.
- Experience with process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, etc.).
- Familiarity with core systems, LOS platforms, and digital banking workflows.
- Knowledge of NCUA regulations, risk controls, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to translate operational needs into clear, scalable processes.
- Strong communication and cross functional collaboration skills.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Background in automation, RPA, or workflow orchestration tools.
- Experience designing SBA 7(a)/504 operational processes.
- Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, BPM, or similar.
