We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – Psychiatric Unit to lead clinical and operational excellence within a hospital setting. This role is responsible for 24/7 unit leadership, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and continuous performance improvement.
- Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the psychiatric/behavioral health unit
- Oversee patient care delivery and ensure clinical excellence
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams
- Ensure compliance with NYSDOH, Joint Commission (JCAHO), and other regulatory bodies
- Monitor admissions, discharges, and patient flow
- Drive quality improvement initiatives (CQI, Root Cause Analysis)
- Prepare and analyse clinical and operational reports
- Support budgeting, staffing, and resource planning
- Maintain a patient-centred environment with strong service standards.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – New York State
- BSN required (Master’s preferred)
- 5 years of RN experience
- 5 years in psychiatric/behavioural health
- 2 years in a leadership role (Manager/Supervisor)
- Must have experience managing a psych unit in a hospital
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
- ACLS – Required
- Crisis Management (PMCS/TRUST) – Preferred
