Position Summary
The Quality Engineer Auditor position will support all AISIN North American manufacturing plants (NAPs) and suppliers in achieving improved process controls (through regular training, audits, and improvement activities) and support new model launch preparations for those processes.
Position Responsibilities
The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:
- Achieve customer certification as an internal auditor in various Special Processes (Welding, Heat Treatment, Hot Stamping, Adhesion, and others), with the expectation of becoming the North American lead for that activity.
- Perform NAP Special Process Audits at the manufacturing locations as needed, showing areas requiring improvement and areas of opportunity. Manage action requests using standard tools until closure by the NAP.
- Provide AISIN NAP locations with training and certification of own in-house special process auditors.
- Follow-up with manufacturing sites after audits to ensure that audit findings are addressed and sustainable process improvements are implemented.
- Support the implementation and further development of the North American Special Process Control system as listed in the quality management system (QMS). This includes refining the operational manual, procedures and forms associated with this process and providing training and assistance to NAP locations in their implementation efforts. Schedule and communicate “joint” Special Process activities with AISIN SEIKI Japan Quality personnel.
- Develop audit criteria and process control methods for additional special processes as they are identified by management.
- Support the AISIN North American QA Center Lab staff with participation in Product Audit, Failure Analysis, Dimensional Analysis as needed.
- Work closely with the AWA-QAC staff and AISIN Group Companies to develop a “One AISIN” team attitude.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
Essential Skills and Experience:
- 3 – 5 years relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of ISO9001 and/or IATF16949 quality systems standards.
- Ability to review the manufacturing process, analyze activities, and develop potential actions for improvement of manufacturing process and quality systems.
- Ability to communicate and conduct manufacturing process audits with suppliers and AISIN facilities.
- Understand Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong Leadership and Organizational Skills.
Beneficial Skills and Experience
- Experience with Welding, Heat Treat, or Adhesion manufacturing processes preferred.
- Knowledge of North America Special Process systems (AIAG, TMNA, other customer specific formats).
Education/Training/Certifications
- BA/BS preferred.
- ASQ certification as Technician, Engineer, Auditor, and/or NSPE as Professional Engineer beneficial.
Qualifications:
Travel Requirements
- Approximately 25 - 50 %. Requires travel to AISIN plants and customer locations.
- Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
