Position Responsibilities
The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:
- Provide engineering support for manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and production systems.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, Quality, and Planning teams to improve equipment reliability, operational performance, safety, and quality.
- Support the installation, qualification, and ramp-up of new equipment, including machine capability studies, process verification, and programming or specification updates.
- Serve as the engineering point of contact for machining process changes, equipment settings, ECRs, work instructions, tool drawings, machine programming, and related documentation.
- Design and improve jigs, fixtures, tooling, and replacement parts using 2D and 3D CAD.
- Apply lean manufacturing concepts to improve cycle time, OEE, labor efficiency, cost, and overall process performance.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and provide technical support to Maintenance and Production teams.
- Support automation-related adjustments, including robot teaching, vision system modifications, nutrunner calibration, and other programming or process changes.
- Assist in developing replacement part requirements, maintenance schedules, and equipment reliability improvements.
- Plan and support budget requirements for new equipment, tooling, and program-related investments.
- Maintain engineering documentation and drawing control standards for equipment, tooling, and process changes.
- Prepare and present technical updates, project status, and improvement activity results to cross-functional and leadership teams.
- Collaborate with local and global teams to share lessons learned, benchmark best practices, and support process standardization.
- Participate in cross-functional activities, audits, customer visits, QPR activities, and other company initiatives as needed.

- Knowledge of automotive manufacturing, total quality management systems, and engineering best practices.
- Ability to support manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and continuous improvement activities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, Quality, and Planning teams.
- Ability to read, interpret, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, work instructions, and process standards.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and support engineering projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Manufacturing engineering experience in the automotive industry.
- Experience working in a cross-cultural or global manufacturing environment.
- Project management experience.
- GDP experience.
- SPC experience.
- Experience supporting ergonomic improvements.
- Experience with 3D SOLIDWORKS.
- Experience with 2D AutoCAD LT or AutoCAD.
- Shift supervisor or production leadership experience.
- PMP certification.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in automotive manufacturing required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an engineering, engineering technician, manufacturing engineering, or similar technical role preferred.
- PMP certification preferred.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher preferred.
