AW Texas Logistics Group Leader
Job Profile:
Logistics Group Leader is responsible for leading the logistics team leaders through executing
of planning in receiving raw materials and components from suppliers (local and
overseas), or delivery of parts to production lines, or shipment of finished
products to customers on time. Plus, achievement of dedicated objectives and
metrics, training and development of employees of logistics team at AW Texas
Automatic Transmission Manufacturing Facility.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Achievement of objectives and improvement of
safety, quality, productivity and indirect material cost metrics. - Leadership/supervision of team members for multiple
activities while providing safe working environment. Development and execution of rigorous and
standardized logistics processes and rules. - Plans and executes the logistics activities
which include but not limited to, receiving raw materials and components from
suppliers, delivery of parts to production lines accurately, shipment of
finished products to customers on time, and maintain inventories in secured and
economic level. - Planning and implementation of required on-job
training / coaching to develop team members. - Teaching 4S S, standard procedures and logistics
basic concepts to team members. - Be in close contact with quality and production
team and secure a smooth production and shipment flow. - Inventory control and participation in warehouse
stock rotation on a regular basis following zero deviation approach. - Communication to suppliers and customs when
needed.
Required Qualification/Education:
- High School or higher level graduate is required.
- 1 year or more experience in manufacturing
logistics or procurement. - 1 or more years of logistics or procurement team
management or supervision experience. - Ability of solving problem by going to the
source and root causes analysis. - Able to demonstrate leadership (ability to build
team members engagement and drive performance). - Supports a fair and productive work environment
built on trust and respect of all team members. - Goal orientated, supports logistics KPIs and
perform any corrective actions needed to meet all targets. - Must be able to share information quickly with
leadership and other concerned with the problems.
Desired Skills/Characteristics:
• Hands-on experience with fork lifts, hoists, slinging, tow-tractor, trailer, trucks and general-purpose measuring instrument (experience of working with AGVs would be an advantage).
• Being familiar with basic lean concepts (4S S, FIFO, KANBAN, JIT, problem-solving methods).
• Being familiar with automotive standards and tools (ISO/IATF, APQP, FMEA).
• Experienced in working with computer and M.S. Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) to prepare required reports, presentations and training procedures.
• Must be capable of flexibly responding to any changes in the company’s direction.
• Willingness to team work, and effective oral and written communication skills.
• Auto manufacturing / Japanese manufacturing experience is desirable.
• Experience in a cross-cultural working environment.
Working/Physical Conditions:
• Able to travel to other US or Japan AW locations for extended business and training (up to 3 months).
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as directed.
