Quality Supervisor - Data Center HVAC Manufacturing
Job Summary
We are seeking a Quality Supervisor to support the assembly and testing operations of data center HVAC equipment at SC manufacturing facility. This role will be responsible for quality planning and execution across key production quality activities, including first article inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, and online testing.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of independently developing control plans, managing quality inspectors, and supporting the Quality Manager in establishing, implementing, and maintaining an ISO 9000-based Quality Management System. Experience in the manufacturing of air-cooled magnetic bearing chillers is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily quality inspection activities on the assembly line for data center HVAC equipment.
- Develop and maintain quality control plans for first article inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, and online testing.
- Supervise and assign work to quality inspectors to ensure inspections are performed accurately and on schedule.
- Ensure product quality requirements are clearly understood and properly implemented throughout the production process.
- Review inspection results, test records, nonconformance reports, and quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for quality issues found during production, testing, or customer feedback.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Testing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
- Support the Quality Manager in establishing, implementing, maintaining, and improving the ISO 9000 Quality Management System.
- Assist in internal audits, process audits, supplier quality activities, and customer audits as needed.
- Train quality inspectors and production personnel on inspection standards, quality procedures, and quality tools.
- Ensure inspection equipment, gauges, and testing tools are properly used, maintained, and calibrated.
- Promote a culture of quality ownership, continuous improvement, and compliance across the manufacturing floor.
- Other assigned tasks.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of quality experience in manufacturing, preferably in HVAC, refrigeration, chillers, data center cooling equipment, or industrial equipment.
- At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of first article inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, production testing, and quality control planning.
- Ability to independently develop control plans, inspection plans, work instructions, and quality records.
- Familiarity with ISO 9000 / ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements.
- Proficient in common quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, CAPA, and Pareto analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, inspection standards, and test procedures.
- Strong problem-solving, logically thinking, communication skills and influence others, and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Experience managing quality inspectors or inspection teams.
- Experience with air-cooled magnetic bearing chillers is strongly preferred.

Preferred Experience
- Manufacturing experience with chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, precision air conditioning systems, or data center cooling products.
- Familiarity with refrigeration systems, electrical control systems, pressure testing, leak testing, functional testing, and end-of-line testing.
- Experience supporting factory quality system setup or new production line launch.
- Certification such as ASQ CQE, CQT, Six Sigma Green Belt, or ISO 9001 Internal Auditor is a plus.
