Job Title: Retail Crew Member Position

Summary

The Retail Crew Member is responsible for delivering excellent customer service, maintaining store operations, and supporting a safe and engaging tactical range environment. This role involves assisting customers with purchases, educating them on products and range usage, and ensuring the store remains clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Opening & Closing Duties

• Clock in and out on time.
• Count starting and ending cash drawers; record totals accurately.
• Turn on/off POS system, receipt printer, and card reader.
• Ensure cleanliness and readiness of the front store, counter area, and back work table.
• Secure iPad in designated drawer at end of shift.

2. Customer Service

• Greet every customer promptly and professionally (“Welcome in”).
• Answer basic questions about products, services, and memberships.
• Educate customers on equipment use and range procedures to promote a safe, welcoming, and fun environment.
• Direct technical or advanced questions to appropriate staff.
• Handle customer concerns respectfully and escalate when necessary.

3. Sales Transactions

• Accurately process transactions (cash, card, digital payments).
• Locate products in POS system; use custom entries when necessary with proper notes.
• Verify customer IDs when required.
• Properly bag and prepare purchased items.
• Confirm order details, total price, and offer receipt options.

4. Memberships & Promotions

• Explain membership options and pricing clearly.
• Process new memberships and renewals.
• Manage loyalty programs and punch cards:
• Purchases of $9.99 earn a star.
• 10 stars = 50 free rounds at the tactical range.
• Inform customers about promotions, specials, and events.

5. Merchandise & Inventory

• Restock front counter items (BBs, gas, accessories).
• Maintain clean and organized displays.
• Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors when low.

6. Safety & Store Rules

• Enforce all tactical range safety rules, including:
• Eye protection at all times.
• Keep barrel pointed downrange.
• Finger off trigger until ready to shoot.
• Monitor customers handling replicas inside and outside the store.
• Maintain awareness of customer activity in-store.

7. Tactical Range Operations

At start of shift:

• Install batteries in AEGs and test functionality (5 test rounds).
• Educate customers on:
• Safe equipment use
• Pricing questions
• Prize qualification rules
• Membership and punch card savings
• Refuse service if safety rules are not followed; escalate if necessary.
• Rotate batteries through chargers during shift.
• At end of shift:
• Remove batteries from AEGs.

8. Cleanliness & Presentation

• Maintain a clean and organized store, including public and employee areas.
• Empty trash bins as needed; assist with weekly trash disposal.
• Sanitize high-touch areas regularly.
• Clean and maintain range equipment, including rifles and eye protection.

9. Communication & Teamwork

• Relay customer feedback and questions to management.
• Assist with range scheduling, time slots, and party bookings.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain smooth operations.

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to follow instructions and enforce safety policies and work independently.
• Basic math and cash-handling skills
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Ability to stay calm and professional in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment

• Retail and indoor tactical range setting
• Requires standing for extended periods
• Interaction with airsoft equipment and customers of all experience levels and ages 3 and up.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift light to moderate items (up to ~25 lbs)
• Ability to move around the store and range area consistently
• Ability to stand for majority of the shift
