What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Build Technician (Auggie Air Preassembly) position at AirPro Diagnostics?
Summary: Configure and prep the Auggie Air electronics off‑line, feeding a ready‑board buffer. Primarily a Tier‑1 IT role — imaging and device setup — with light electronics assembly. Detail‑oriented enough to help maintain the master image and supporting automation.
Responsibilities
- Assemble the add‑on board (capacitor, jumper, RTC batteries) and mount it to the single‑board computer (SBC); mount electronics to the plate (backplate, antennas, side‑screen board, power/video).
- Flash the BIOS update and apply the standard system image from USB; enter the unit number/type at the prompt during flashing; allow configuration and policies to apply.
- Complete device registration in internal inventory and device‑management systems: remote in, record device identifiers (serial, credentials, keys, image version), apply the correct profile, and store credentials securely.
- Help maintain and improve the master system image and supporting build automation.
- Work to standard cycle time (takt), follow ESD‑safe handling, and log issues to the production tracker.
Required skills & qualifications
- IT Tier‑1 fundamentals: OS imaging/deployment, basic hardware/software troubleshooting, remote‑support tools, accurate data entry into business systems.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline (to support master‑image updates).
- Experience using AI coding assistants / agentic developer tools (e.g., Anthropic Claude Code, OpenAI Codex) to script and automate routine work.
- Careful hands; able to follow assembly work instructions; ESD‑safe handling (trainable).
Preferred
- Some electronics/hardware experience (board handling, connectors).
- CompTIA A or equivalent; scripting (e.g., PowerShell) for imaging/config automation.
