We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a friendly and professional atmosphere.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about services offered.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up-to-date in the system.
- Process payments and handle billing inquiries with attention to detail.
- Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint during examinations as needed.
- Provide clients with educational materials regarding animal care and health.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with clients and staff.
- Experience in animal handling, including dog handling techniques and animal restraint.
- Familiarity with equine care is a plus for those working in mixed-animal practices.
- Understanding of animal husbandry practices to provide accurate information to pet owners.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques to support the clinic's hygiene standards.
- Basic understanding of animal anatomy to assist in client education efforts.
- Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is preferred but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
