Job Title: Reverse Logistics Manager
Department: Operations – Distribution Center
Reports To: Warehouse Manager
Location: PDC

Pay Range: $85,000-$90,000 per year
Classification: Full-Time | Exempt

Position Summary

The Reverse Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing all return-related operations, including product returns, repairs, refurbishments, recycling, and disposal. This role ensures efficient movement of goods back through the supply chain, minimizes losses, and drives cost recovery strategies. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in supply chain or logistics operations, and a proactive approach to process optimization. Additional duties may be assigned based on the needs of the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Returns & Reverse Flow Management

  • Manage the receipt, inspection, classification, and disposition of returned merchandise.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of customer returns, vendor returns, damaged goods, and recall products.
  • Develop and maintain return-to-vendor (RTV) programs and manage vendor relationships.
  • Monitor and track return trends to reduce avoidable returns and improve product quality feedback loops.

Inbound Truck Check-In & Delivery Oversight

  • Oversee the daily check-in process for delivery and installation trucks returning from routes.
  • Verify and document all returned products, parts, and paperwork from delivery teams.
  • Reconciliation of the days order fulfillments, with any issues reported to the proper teams.
  • Communicate discrepancies or damage reports promptly to the appropriate teams (Inventory, Service, Dispatch, etc.).
  • Collaborate with dispatch and routing teams to ensure accurate tracking of assets and route performance.
  • Assist in evaluating and improving delivery return protocols for increased accountability and efficiency.

Non-Productive Inventory (NPI) Management

  • Track, document, and classify Non-Productive Inventory (NPI), including damaged, defective, obsolete, or aging items.
  • Coordinate with inventory control, purchasing, and merchandising teams to determine disposition strategies.
  • Oversee the preparation of NPI for liquidation, recycling, or return to vendor (RTV).
  • Generate reports on NPI trends and root causes to help reduce future non-productive inventory.
  • Maintain accurate records to ensure proper accounting and reconciliation of NPI within ERP systems.

Process Optimization & Strategy

  • Design and implement reverse logistics strategies to reduce costs and improve service.
  • Continuously review and improve internal reverse logistics workflows and policies.
  • Collaborate with shipping, customer service, inventory, and service departments to streamline operations.
  • Establish KPIs and monitor operational efficiency, accuracy, and cost recovery performance.

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead, train, and develop a team of reverse logistics associates and administrative support.
  • Ensure staff follow safety and company protocols in handling returns, especially damaged or hazardous goods.
  • Schedule labor to align with reverse logistics volume and project timelines.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including e-waste and hazardous material handling.
  • Manage recycling, donation, and liquidation programs in accordance with sustainability goals.
  • Create and distribute regular reporting on return volumes, processing times, shrink recovery, and vendor compliance.

System & Technology Oversight

  • Utilize WMS/ERP (e.g., NetSuite) to track and report on inventory movements.
  • Coordinate system configurations and reporting needs with IT and data teams.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and database records for all returned products.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years of experience in logistics or warehouse operations, with at least 2 years in reverse logistics management.
  • Experience with ERP/WMS systems; NetSuite experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of product life cycles, recycling regulations, and sustainability practices.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This role is primarily based in the distribution center environment with frequent walking and use of warehouse systems.
  • Occasional travel to vendors or retail store locations may be required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and operate within warehouse safety guidelines.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
