What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Operations position at Airport Courier Service?
Warehouse Coordinator
Location: Woburn, MA, in person
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–8:30 PM
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
The Opportunity
We’re hiring someone to manage the flow of shipments through our Woburn warehouse. You’ll receive and track items, prepare them for delivery, maintain accurate records, and give drivers the instructions they need before heading out.
This position calls for someone who enjoys hands-on work, is comfortable using computer systems, and can keep customer details straight while several shipments are in progress. You’ll work closely with drivers, customers, and teammates. Occasional deliveries in a company vehicle are part of the role, but most of your time will be spent at the warehouse.
The Work
Inventory and warehouse operations
- Receive and inbound items, track them while they are on-site, and process outbound shipments.
- Perform physical inventories and cycle counts for customers with critical spare parts inventory.
- Complete sort-and-seg projects and freight reworks.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and ready for daily operations.
Shipment preparation and handoff
- Pack temperature-controlled shipments with dry ice and set up temperature loggers.
- Keep track of each customer’s handling and delivery requirements.
- Go over shipment instructions with drivers before they leave the warehouse.
- Occasionally make deliveries in a company car or cargo van.
Records and communication
- Enter and maintain accurate inventory and shipment information in company systems.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, drivers, and coworkers, both verbally and in writing.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong customer service skills and a professional manner.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Confidence with data entry and computer-based records, and the ability to learn new software.
- Attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage different instructions across multiple shipments.
- Comfort with careful, process-driven tasks and the physical work of a warehouse, including lifting, standing, and moving shipments during your shift.
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
- A valid driver’s license, willingness to drive a company car or cargo van when needed, and dependable transportation to our Woburn facility.
Forklift experience, temperature-controlled or hazmat shipment experience, and a background in logistics, courier service, or warehouse operations are helpful, but they are not required.
