Duties
- Safely operate your personal or commercial vehicle, including box trucks and vans, to complete delivery routes efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to traffic regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and safe lifting practices during all driving and delivery activities.
- Manage route driving using mobile devices for navigation, tracking deliveries, and communicating with dispatch.
- Ensure accurate documentation of deliveries, including signatures, timestamps, and delivery confirmation logs.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting recipients professionally and addressing any delivery-related questions or concerns.
- Maintain vehicle safety through routine inspections, proper maintenance checks, and compliance with heavy lifting safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier with knowledge of route planning and navigation.
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license for commercial driving or personal vehicle delivery; ability to operate manual transmission preferred.
- Experience with commercial truck driving or van driving is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and moving items using appropriate equipment like pallet jacks.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to weight handling in the workplace and safe driving practices on public roads.
- Strong customer service skills with professional communication abilities.
- Comfortable using mobile devices for route management and communication during deliveries.
