The Clinical Coordinator assesses, plans, and advocates for patient health needs, using communication and resources to ensure quality, cost-effective outcomes. They select appropriate providers and facilities, maintain fiscal responsibility for AirMed, and act as a patient advocate during transport.
Essential Functions/Duties
- Utilizing a collaborative process, the clinical coordinator will assess, plan, facilitate, and advocate the options and services required to meet an individual's health needs, using communication and available resources to promote quality, cost-effective outcomes.
- The clinical coordinator assists in identifying appropriate providers and facilities throughout the continuum of services (as needed) while ensuring that available resources are being used in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- The clinical coordinator holds fiscal responsibility on AirMed's behalf and serves as an advocate for the patient in all aspects of the transport.
- Actively participates in monitoring and maintaining the quality and effectiveness of clinical Coordinator services provided on an ongoing basis through routine audits and reviews. Ensures utilization of resources is meeting the health needs of the individual in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Provides the highest level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Assists in managing customer complaints as expeditiously as possible.
- Must hold a valid nursing license from the County and/or State(s) of primary practice and/or cinical oversight as required for all US based operations. For foreign-based operations, must hold valid nursing licenses from comparable programs of nursing and will require administrative or Medical Director Oversight by US licensed health care professional for any care direction recommended. Bilingual language skills preferred.
- Advanced practice experience and education preferred.
- Minimum of five years of clinical experience in an acute inpatient setting.
- Experience in transport medicine preferred.
- Recommendation from appropriate supervisory nursing personnel.
- Nationally recognized certification in specialty (CFRN, CCRN or CCRN-K) required within 2 years of hire date.
- For PRN Clinical Coordinators: Advanced Certification is required upon transfer/hire.
- For PRN Clinical Coordinator: The time requirements will be 24 hours per calendar month unless approved by the CC Manager. Working on one of the 8 major AirMed/GMR holidays is also a requirement for employment.
- Excellent and effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work and make decisions independently.
