Job Title: MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Job Responsibilities:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and proficiency in various industrial maintenance tasks. This role is essential to ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment, contributing to overall productivity and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Install, set up, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components on machines and systems.
- Conduct welding tasks, including stick welding, as needed for repairs and modifications.
- Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs for production equipment during operations.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on production equipment during machine service and set up machinery for scheduled production runs.
- Analyze mechanical issues and troubleshoot problems effectively, replacing or repairing parts as necessary.
- Collaborate with industrial electricians and other team members to complete complex projects and troubleshoot issues.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, work orders, and maintenance instructions to guide repair work.
- Use hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment to perform maintenance tasks.
- Operate equipment safely while performing maintenance duties.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
- Comply with safety regulations and ensure work areas are kept clean and orderly.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing maintenance needs promptly and professionally.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance, specifically with industrial equipment and and controls, steam boilers, hydraulic presses, hoists, motors, pumps, ovens, safety controls, belts, compressed air, fittings, and exhaust fan systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and electrical training, including experience with 480V 3-phase systems, machine controls, and troubleshooting steam traps.
- Familiarity with VFD drives, PLCs, relays, and manufacturing methods.
- Proficient in performing seal replacements, repairing hydraulic presses, and maintaining steam boiler systems.
- Experience in using various tools, including welding equipment, for maintenance tasks and equipment repairs.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues, including steam and hydraulic systems.
- Strong communication skills, with familiarity in technical sales concepts to collaborate with vendors and customers on parts and services.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask, work overtime as required, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Commitment to safety and a dedication to continuous learning and development.
- Completion of required training courses as determined by management.
- Familiarity with Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
- Comfortable with welding, fabrication, and basic carpentry skills for machinery adjustments or repairs.
- Experience with lubrication systems and maintaining appropriate oil levels and conditions for equipment longevity.
- Forklift experience for safe handling and movement of equipment and materials.

Educational, Experience and Skill Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Light carpentry, minor electrical and plumbing skills required

- Must maintain a valid Connecticutdriver’s license.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.30 - $36.00 per hour
