Summary

Maintains and executes daily accounting practices to ensure accurate, timely, and reliable data necessary for ongoing business operations. Supervises the core accounting staff and manages transactional processing and reconciliation cycles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Act in accordance with company mission, values, policies, and procedures.
• Compile and organize financial data to assist in the preparation of annual and monthly balance sheets and income statement budgets.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and variance reports for review by management prior to the end of the following month.
• Execute accounting routines for physical inventories, including monthly audits for route divisions and midyear/fiscal year-end counts at the Aire-Master warehouse.
• Reconcile and maintain activity and balances across asset, liability, and capital accounts.
• Perform regular data gathering and reconciliations for all bank accounts and operational borrowing certificates.
• Gather and organize support documentation for general business insurance coverage needs and workers' compensation audits.
• Prepare schedules and work papers to support the independent CPA firm during the annual audit.
• Track and reconcile annual franchise conference expenses against fee income.
• Assist with the training of new franchisees regarding basic accounting procedures and financial requirement submissions.
• Supervise and provide direction to the accounting department.
• Provide financial leadership and guidance to the executive leadership team.
• Oversee daily data entry and transactional workflows within the accounting department.

• Ability to operate under pressure and meet strict monthly deadlines.
• Proficient with Excel and word processing programs.
• Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or 5 years of relevant corporate accounting experience.
• Ability to work well with people and communicate effectively across internal departments and the franchise network.
