Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aides (HHAs) to provide exceptional in-home care to clients across various settings. The ideal candidate will assist with daily living activities, monitor patient health, and support clients in maintaining their independence and quality of life. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration
- Support medication administration following prescribed instructions and documentation protocols
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, especially those with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
- Assist with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts to ensure safety during transfers
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and assist with feeding if necessary
- Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
- Document patient care activities accurately using Electronic Health Records (EHR) or Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding patient status and care plans
- Follow infection control procedures and maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support clients in community settings or their homes to promote independence
Skills
- Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in health status or behavior
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring memory care such as Alzheimer’s or dementia care
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for medical documentation and record keeping
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to home health care
- Ability to assist with complex care needs including catheter care, hospice support, medication management, and use of medical equipment like Hoyer lifts
- CPR certification is highly desirable; ongoing training preferred
- Compassionate caregiving skills combined with patience and excellent communication abilities
- Ability to work independently while following established care plans and protocols
- Flexibility to work various shifts including live-in arrangements if required
